Requesting information

To be used where your client is being contacted in relation to an old debt. See The Debt is Old for further information.

To be used to obtain the original credit contract or contract for service and bills and correspondence from the creditor or debt collector. See Getting relevant documents for more information.

To be used to obtain details about consumer credit contracts. See Getting relevant documents for more information.

To be used to obtain a letter from a client’s treating medical professional or support worker setting out the client’s circumstances.

 

Putting a hold on enforcement

See Putting a hold on enforcement for further information.

For credit contract debts where proceedings have not yet commenced.

For non-credit contract debts use where proceedings have not yet commenced.

If your client has been given a Code compliant default notice, you should request postponement of enforcement proceedings under section 94 of the Code using this letter.

 

Negotiating with the creditor

These templates may be used where it is necessary to negotiate with the creditor.

 

 

Other

If this is the client’s position and the creditor or debt collector continues to contact them, send this letter.
